Who We Are

Haven Respite was founded by a qualified mental health professional whose career spans frontline community care and over a decade of senior corporate leadership at global organisations across the UK and Africa.
That combination, rigorous professional standards from the corporate world, and genuine human understanding from the frontline, is what makes Haven Respite different.
We built Haven Respite because we knew a better standard of care was possible in Nottinghamshire: a service that holds itself to the highest professional standards regardless of how a client funds their care, and treats every individual as exactly that, an individual.
Our Background
Expertise across care and leadership
Our founding team brings together expertise across mental health support, learning disabilities, community care, change management, and organisational leadership. We have worked inside large institutions and on the frontline of care, and we have seen what works and what does not.
The Haven Respite team holds qualifications and experience across mental health support and community care, learning disabilities and complex needs, leadership and management in health and social care, change management and organisational development, and safeguarding, risk assessment and case management. Every team member holds enhanced DBS clearance, without exception.

Haven Respite is delivered by a small, carefully selected team of mental health and care professionals. Every team member is enhanced DBS checked, trained to our internal standards, and shares our commitment to genuinely person-centred care.
We do not use agency staff. The people who support your family are our people, consistent, accountable, and known to you by name. When we introduce a team member to your household, that relationship is maintained. Consistency is not a nice-to-have in care; it is essential.

Any surplus Haven Respite generates is reinvested into the business, into better training for our team, improved services for our clients, and expanding our capacity to support more people across Nottinghamshire.
